Before the terminal’s establishment, the fuel supply for these regions was primarily sourced from Seaoil’s terminal in Irasan.

Philippines fuel provider Seaoil has expanded its reach by inauguring its newest bulk terminal in Zamboanga City. Situated at the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport in Barangay Talisayan, this terminal marks the company’s 13th depot nationwide, representing a substantial investment of P822 million.

The strategic significance of this terminal cannot be overstated. Boasting a maximum storage capacity of 30.5 million litres, it stands as the largest storage facility in Zamboanga del Sur. This expansion elevates Seaoil’s overall capacity to over 440 million litres, solidifying its position as the premier provider with the most extensive network of import-capable terminals across the Philippines.

The Zamboanga Bulk Terminal is uniquely positioned to cater to the fuel demands not only of Zamboanga del Sur but also of the surrounding islands, including Tawi-Tawi, Jolo, and Sulu. Before the terminal’s establishment, the fuel supply for these regions was primarily sourced from Seaoil’s terminal in Irasan.

Stephen Yu, Seaoil’s President for Commercial Business and Chief Operations Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to broadening accessibility to its products and services. “Our locations are strategic in the sense that consumers and businesses can easily avail of our products and services,” he stated.

The significance of this expansion extends beyond business operations. Seaoil is actively engaging in corporate social responsibility initiatives within the community. Plans include the implementation of the Seaoil Foundation’s Tugon sa Gutom program and offering free on-the-job training on tanker safety and marine environmental protection.

Furthermore, the company’s presence contributes significantly to the economic landscape of the regions it serves. As a top taxpayer in the areas where its depots are established, Seaoil aims to bolster revenues and enhance the collection of regional districts, notably in Zamboanga City.

With 820 stations and 13 terminals strategically positioned nationwide, Seaoil continues to play a vital role in ensuring the availability of high-quality fuel products and lubricants while actively engaging in initiatives that uplift communities and foster sustainable development.
