Mechel’s Ulak-Elga railway to RZD?

State-controlled Russian Railways (RZD) is considering acquiring the Ulak-Elga railway from Mechel, the major privately owned coal and steel producer. The 320 km railway line links the Elga coalfield in Yakutia, Eastern Siberia with the Baikal-Amur Railway (BAM).
