Investor uncertainty continues in Guinea

The latest licence review by the government of Guinea could see concessions to major companies revoked and new port and rail projects halted. BHP Billiton announced in July that it would pull out of its Mount Nimba iron ore project in Guinea. In late October it suggested that the global economy could do without Guinean iron ore for the foreseeable future because of the development of new projects in Brazil and Australia.
