The Colombian terminal at Puerto Buenavista operated by SAAM is investing US$3.5M in two projects, the construction of a 4,300 m2 warehouse for lime storage, and the installation of a new 6,000t/day conveyor belt on the dock, which has just started operating.
The US$500,000 warehouse will service loads for Lhoist Corporate, one of the world’s major lime producers. The conveyor belt involved an investment of US$3M and took 10 months to build, facilitating higher unloading rates and the ability to service more ships.
Puerto Buenavista is a multipurpose port that provides services for general cargo, solid bulk, automobiles, machinery and project loads. In 2016, the terminal mobilised 390,000t, mainly bulk loads. It has a 211m dock and a draught of 11m.
