…state sells stevedore/steelmaker

Latvian authorities have sold Liepajas Osta (LO), the largest stevedore operating at the port of Liepaja, and its former parent company, Liepajas Metalurgs (LM), the country’s largest steelmaker. LM went bankrupt late last year, after its private owners failed to pay off loans from UniCredit Bank, and has since been run by the state, which decided to sell LM and LO separately.
