…and faces coal backlash

Vancouver also has some coal-related projects in the pipeline. It recently approved an expansion project at Neptune Terminals to increase its coal handling capacity from 9 to 12.5 Mtpa on its existing footprint. That project includes a wide range of dust suppression measures but city residents are concerned the ports growing coal handling business is creating a significant health risk that is not being properly addressed.
