LNG isn’t everything, there’s still a role for coal

Coal import record for Germany
StandardAccording to the German Coal Importers Federation (VDKI), Germany imported close to 40 mt of coal last year, the first time the country has imported more coal than it produced. German coal mines generated 28 mt in 2001 and it is likely that they will cut a further 1.5 mt this year.
